Maxwell Spanish Immersion Elementary School Reviews

We have two children at Maxwell and could not be more pleased. We are both educators and hold high expectations for school leadership, teaching and parent involvement. Maxwell excells in all these areas. We are blessed to be involved in this progrm. My hope is that future parents take the Spanish Immergent Program seriously and send their children to Station Middle and High!

Wonderful education, academically and socially, in both Spanish and English. We were so lucky to be here from K-5

Maxwell's Spanish Immersion Program is a unique gem in the educational system of Kentucky and part of a small 'club' of Spanish immersion elementary programs in this nation. Both of our children have excelled in this atmosphere of diversity. The most wonderful thing is that they are becoming fluent in a second language and are distinguished in all other subjects as well. Quite remarkable as they learn half of their subjects (math & science) completely in Spanish!

I have two children at Maxwell and have been please with my children's acaemic development. The Teacher's have been fantastic. My only concern would be the leadership from the principal. Have seen somewhat of a decline in the school since Dr. Z. left. Overall still happy, but concerned if a princpal is not hired.

Maxwell is an excellent school all around, from academics, to field trips, to teachers, to parental involvement and beyond. I am so glad my child has the opportunity to attend!

My daughter started in kindergarten this year, and we are very happy with the school. Unfortunately, there has not been a permanent principal here for two years, and I think that is beginning to show. The idea is sound, the teaching is great, but I fear that the teachers and staff are not getting the support and direction they need for ultimate success. I also think a stronger program for children with behavioral problems would be a benefit to all. But all in all, I wouldn't trade the experience. We're very grateful that we got into the program!

My son is in kindergarten at Maxwell this year and I'm thrilled! He is quickly picking up a second language that he hadn't even been exposed to before this school year. And as an educator, I can tell you that the faculty/staff/administrators are all top notch! Every day my son learns to value diversity.

This is a magnet school? Yes the kids score high(heard this from everybody involved with the school) but there it looked like a 'madhouse' when I was there on a normal school day. Saw children dumped on other teachers( 2 over an hour) who were disciplinary problems.Stood in the office for 20 minutes before I was spoken to.
