Lafayette High School Reviews

This school is doing so much for me and i love attending this school here. Disipline is resonable and the teachers are respectful as you are to them.

amazing! I highly recommend it!

The last great middle class high school. Lafayette has neither very rich nor very poor students, just the broad middle. This means almost everyone gets along well, be they white, black, Latino or Asian. Administration is anti student and anti parent. But the teachers more than make up for it, giving huge amounts of attention to each individual. The teachers are very well qualified, and many teach at local colleges in the evenings. Seven have doctorates. Principal has eliminated many extracurricular activities, and discourages electives, but the classes and activities that remain are excellent. Not a warm family environment, but still a good school, certainly the best in Lexington.

Great teachers. I wasn't so sure about the principals, they seemed shaky. Kids aren't allowed to stay late after school. I had to pick my son up after school at 5:30 and found him sitting outside in the middle of winter because the assistant principal told him he couldn't wait inside. But the other students seem nice and the teachers seem to have a good head on their shoulders. Typical school food, typical lunch ladies. Overall, a typical public school.

A great school, with great teachers. Students are diverse, involved and display great amounts of talent and leadership.

An excellent school with great kids and a superb principal! The school demonstrates outstanding leadership and a strong devotion to the fine arts! Go Generals!
