The restaurant scene continues to boom, a lot of new restaurants have opened in recent months and many are expected to open before the end of the year. Like Michael's restaurant, Wallace's Station focuses on using local ingredients as often as possible. While the menu always includes fried chicken liver, the team also places great emphasis on local ingredients, with a menu full of local cheeses, fruits, vegetables and herbs.

The menu pays homage to Kentucky fried banana pods and offers a variety of options that cater to every taste. Spotz Gelato opened in Lexington, Kentucky, in mid-September and has since opened locations in Versailles and Georgetown. After years of being on campus, UK has now moved to another location, located right next to the campus and now the hub for anyone looking for a downtown Lexington restaurant. Great Bagel opened on Boston Road in June, but it is just a few blocks from the University of Kentucky's main campus.
