Bourbon and distillery hopping is definitely one of the most unique activities in Lexington, Kentucky. Get Outside KY is like the name suggests: Get Out and Explore KY. And there are only a few things to explore in the best museums in Kentucky, such as the Kentucky Museum of Natural History and the Lexington Kentucky Museums.

Versailles - Woodford County Park also houses one of Kentucky's most interesting museums, the Woodfords County Historical Society Museum. With a collection of all sorts of items, it includes items ranging from early Kentucky cabinets and historical photographs to Civil War relics from the distillery.

The museum is located at 4435 Old Frankfurt Pike, and it's one of the best things to do in Lexington, KY. The classic bourbon trail, which leads from Lexington, Ky., to Kentucky bourbon, goes hand in hand with this museum, in a way. It is a scenic drive through the land of horse farms and a cross between bourbon and horses, just a few miles from the Kentucky State Capitol and Kentucky's largest bourbon distillery.

You can reach the Kentucky State Capitol, Kentucky Bourbon Distilleries and Kentucky's largest distillery. It also includes a beat-up, old-contemporary, vintage-style barns and a Kentucky museum of history and culture.

The exhibits include a collection of paintings, drawings, photographs and other artifacts that illustrate Richmond, Kentucky's turbulent history. It was donated by the Richmond Museum of Natural History, a museum of the city's art and culture.

When Mayor Pam Miller asked a group of people to create a history museum, Lexington History Museum, Inc. was founded in 1996. John C. Smith, a Lexington native and historian who is now director of the museum and a member of the board of directors, was a member of this group.

The center is designed to preserve the memories of Kentucky residents and includes a collection of oral histories archived at the Kentucky Museum of Natural History and the Center for the Study of Kentucky History. The CMA Library is located in the Lexington History Museum, Inc. building on the east side of the museum and maintains a library of over 100,000 pages of Kentucky oral history archives.

The Smithsonian Museum - affiliated to the museum that opened in 1978 in Horse Park - is a museum dedicated to educating people about the relationship between man and horse throughout history. Although well known in Kentucky, the museum is also nationally recognized and was named "Best Museum" by the National Museum of Natural History in 2014 for the best museum in the United States.
